Neighborhoods Now is a pandemic-response initiative to assist community organizations and neighborhoods hit hard by COVID-19 in developing reopening strategies. Organized by the Van Alen Institute and Urban Design Forum, the coalition of 50+ design firms and experts spent summer 2020 working with organizations across New York City in Bed-Stuy, Jackson Heights, Northwest Bronx, and Washington Heights.

Under the umbrella of Volunteer Architects Limited, ARO has been collaborating on the initiative in the Jackson Heights working group with SO-IL, LTL Architects, Design Advocates, MOS, nARCHITECTS, and VHB.
